  Function "Change attenuation" assumes that global attenuation is summed up to instrument ones but it seems that SF does not react in that way. Global attenuation is set up instead to instrument where there is no value (null). So global attenuation is a sort of "default value when null in instrument section".

  in the 1.9 version i am using it does add up, but to hear it, you have to select Global in the Preset view.
