The sample viewer has a volume control, but when working with instruments or presets, everything is being played at an extremely high volume causing a lot of distortion. This doesn't affect the final product, but sure makes it difficult to work on instruments as the sound gets pretty distorted at such a high volume. I've searched all over and can't find any way to reduce the volume when working with instruments. Is this just the way it is, or a I missing something (probably something obvious)?
Yes, only in Polyphone, and yes, all sound fonts. Samples sound fine (after turning down the volume in the sample editor) but they’re overloud and distorted when played in an instrument or preset.
They sound fine when played in a sound font player.
Oh - and the synth has a master volume control, but the samples I recorded from it are not loud or showing clipping. When played in the audio editor I used to prepare the samples, and in the sample editor in Polyphone (again, after turning the volume down) they sound fine.
sounds like an issue for Support & Bug reports then, monitored by the developer, here you find only help from users like yourself.
