Copying presets from one .sf2 to another .sf2

    I have presets that I use very frequently, but they're scattered across dozens of different .sf2 files. I'd like to copy those presets into a single "favorites.sf2" file.

    This discussion implies that I can somehow drag-n-drop presets from one .sf2 file to another, but I'm having no luck with that. I open both the source and an (empty) .sf2 file, and can drag a preset out of the source, but dragging it up to the tab for the destination .sf2 doesn't activate that tab, and I can't drop the file into it.

    Am I missing something, or is there another way to do this?

    the destination Preset number must be free. if the copyed Preset lands in a different Bank and Preset number (usually the settings in the source file), than change Bank and Preset number.

    Thanks - that looks like useful information! However, I was having trouble getting to that point. But I finally figured out that when copying presets into an empty SoundFont file, the trick is to right-click on the preset of interest, and select "Copy." Then switch to the tab for the empty file, select the "General" header, then press Ctrl-V or Cmd-V (Mac) to paste the preset into the destination file. After that, subsequent presets can be pasted into the target file by right-clicking in the list of presets and selecting "Paste," though selecting the "General" header and pressing Ctrl/Cmd-V will still work just fine.

    yes, there are a lot improvements in the newer versions of Polyphone, but because of that horrible 'modern' layout, with moving buttons and poor colouring and extensive accomodations to what we used to call telephones, i still work in version 1.9. in that version it is way easier to drag and drop Presets and Instruments between two .sf2's
