I have just worked on a .sf2 for hours just for this app to deem it corrupted and now I can't use it with anything.
Exporting also just results in a crash, and also corrupts it, I've tested it twice!

The sound font in question is about 7-8GB in size because it can be. But now all this progress has been lost! Thanks!

    Why does this happen.
    How can I fix it.
Is there a better program I can use?

As a soundfont (monoblock), 7~8GB is too much. Even with the smallest change, the software needs to save all the data. Even when working with much smaller soundfonts, it is better to work on separate parts in different files.

Save often and use a versioning system each time you save (e.g. adding version information like v3-01 to the end of the soundfont name, or date+time information like 20250416-1528). This way, the previous version remains healthy.
