Replacing a sample in a soundfont

I would like to replace a sample in a sound font I have previously made in polyphone. I notice that when you right click a sample the "replace by" is greyed out. Do I need to delete the sample then add the new one - giving it the same name (pitch), and will that  replace it in the instrument and preset or do I need to re-bind it?  Thanks, Eric

if you import a sample of the exact same name in a soundfont you will get the option to replace it.
the new sample will get the same settings as the old one.

I have a sample that is the wrong pitch ( G2 which plays G#2)  I transposed it to G2 and made sure its root key is 43 (G# is 44) It plays properly I then replaced the old G2 in instrument with the transposed G2. However when I  use the sounfont in my player the G2 still plays as G#2.  I assume I am missing a step.

can you attach the G2wrong.wav and the G2transposed. wav to your post"?
    your picture looks OK.
