I can amplify the sample in Audacity but I can't in Polyphone without the clicks and pops. The original audio doesn't have clicks and pops

can you attach a simple soundfont containing 1 or 2 (NOT normalized) samples which have the click/ pop problem in Polyphone?
i normalized numerous samples without any problem (in Polyphone 1.9, my eyes are too old for the recent versions)

Here. The first sample is the original. The second is the one processed in Audacity. The third is the the one processed in Polyphone. I amplified them to the same DB values.

Select "Sample 4L" or "Sample 4R" from the Sample section.
Select Change-Volume from the menu above
You can normalize without any problems from the "normalize" section of the pop-up window that opens. // my recommendation is not to exceed 95%.
If you are going to normalize in external programs such as Audacity, increase it up to -1 dB as the limit, do not set it to 0. Because in this case, dropout may occur when you import it to Polyphone.

it is like Ziya says; the volume is amplfied too much, the waveform is clipping, like an overdrive guitar.
in Polyphone i Normalize at 80%, in my wave editor -2 dB
