With other software I converted it into a SF2-file. I don't know if I did something not right, however it resulted into a SF2-file of about 480 Mb while the Gigafile is 932 Mb.
However I want to use such piano soundbank for an oldskool sampler: the E-MU ESI 2000. I haven't tried it before, however after a long search on the internet it seems I have found software to convert and export it into the sampler. But the sampler contains 128 Mb RAM
The best option to reduce the file-size of the soundband while maintaining the quality as much as possible is to make use of loops.
It seems like a hard challenge to me. When I listen to the 'tail' of the sound of a piano, I'll discover there's some kind of cyclus. (I don't know to describe such a thing properly. I hope you understand what I'm talking about.)
To put my question in a nutshell: how to make good loops out of piano sample sounds?
