  Samples from all kinds of acoustic music instruments like strings, brass instruments, vibraphone, marimba and miscelaneous percussion and drum instruments. The file format is AIF lossless, commonly 44100 sps by 24bit. Use software like foobar2000  to convert the samples into WAV-files

  I found this link from hammersound.net . It contains old soundfonts and separate soundfiles from the late 90s to early 2000s. Because of that you may find some very interesting stuff in here.
