How can do you export a soundfont?

I've watched many tutorials (each with missing steps) and am still unable to create a SFZ soundfont, using Polyphone. Can someone lend a hand point out what I am doing wrong in the steps below?

    1. Launch Polyphone -> New SoundFont.

        SAMPLES

    2. Highlight "Samples" tab -> Add a  sample (sine wave icon at top left) -> browse to location of prepared audio samples.
    3. Select (highlight) all of the audio samples in WAV format -> Open (or drag & drop samples onto "Samples" tab).

        INSTRUMENT

    4. With all the samples still selected, click on "Add an Instrument" (spkr icon) -> type name as "Flamenco Gtr" -> check "Link selected samples" -> OK.
    5. Scroll across and enter the "Root key" for each sample...

        SAMPLE                                   ROOT
        Flamenco Gtr 40_E2.wav  40
        Flamenco Gtr 45_A2.wav  45
        Flamenco Gtr 50_D3.wav  50
        Flamenco Gtr 55_G3.wav  55
        Flamenco Gtr 59_B3.wav  59
        Flamenco Gtr 64_E4.wav  64
        Flamenco Gtr 74_D5.wav  74

    6. Now enter "Key range" to assign which MIDI keys will utilize a root sample. Set E3 string to play keys 38-44 (D2 to G#2).

        SAMPLE                                   RANGE
        Flamenco Gtr 40_E2.wav  38-44
        Flamenco Gtr 45_A2.wav  45-49
        Flamenco Gtr 50_D3.wav  50-54
        Flamenco Gtr 55_G3.wav  55-58
        Flamenco Gtr 59_B3.wav  59-63
        Flamenco Gtr 64_E4.wav  64-73
        Flamenco Gtr 74_D5.wav  74-84

    7. In "Global" column, Enter "Velocity range" as 0-127.
    8. In "Global" column, enter a value for each ADSR component.

        PRESET

    9. Instruments tab -> select (highlight) "Flamenco Gtr." At the bottom will appear "Instrument not linked to a preset yet" -> Add a preset (duplet icon) -> type in "Flamenco Gtr" -> check "Link selected instruments" -> OK. Optionally drag & drop "Flamenco Gtr" onto Presets tab -> OK.
    10. Select "Flamenco Gtr" under the "Instruments" tab again. "Instrument linked to preset" will now appear at bottom.
    11. Expand "Presets" tab -> expand "000:000 Flamenco Gtr" -> select "Flamenco Gtr" below -> in "Flamenco Gtr" column (not the Global), make sure parameters are correct...

              Key range: 38-84
        Velocity range: 0-127

        EXPORT

    12. Highlight "Flamenco Gtr" under "000:000 Flamenco Gtr" in Presets -> Settings (top right) -> Export SoundFonts (or "Ctrl+E") -> check box for "000:000 Flamenco Gtr" -> browse the directory, where you store soundfonts; e.g...

          C:/Audio/SoundFonts/SFZ

    13. Select Folder -> choose from the options...

          Format: SFZ
          Preset number...  : <blank>
          One directory/bank: <blank>
          General MIDI...  : <blank>

    14. Export -> OK.

A folder named "export" with the SFZ file is rendered, along with a subfolder, containing the samples. When I drag & drop the SFZ file into Plogue's Sforzando player, the virtual keyboard therein is totally grayed. When I drop into the player SFZ soundfonts I download from others, the keyboard is not grayed: they play OK.

what happens when you export from Polyphone a downloaded .sf2 (two) to .sfz (Z) and load it in Sforzando?

I downloaded at least a dozen SF2 instruments and was able to audit each on the virtual keyboard in Polyphone. After binding the instrument to Preset, I exported it in the SFZ format. When exporting, I left the three options unchecked. When loaded into Plogue's Sforzando, all but one of the keys on its virtual keyboard are grayed; and it does not play any sound. Which of the three options--if any-do you select when exporting as SFZ?

    Thank you for your patience.

When I choose to "Export" a sounfont, Polyphone renders an SFZ.  To render SF2, I must choose to "Save." I prefer SFZ because the Finale music notation software I use uses the SFZ format. But I would settle for a SF2 as then I could process the music I write in Ableton.

All the SF2 files I open in Polyphone cannot be Saved as SF2 because the floppy disk icon is grayed. I apologize for being a poor student. Are you able to create an SFZ instrument, using Polyphone?
