Polyphone cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified

  Tried to download on my Mac. It said: "Polyphone cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified". Any known work arounds?

  For creating a verified installer, according to what I understood since I'm not an expert with Mac, I need to be identified by Apple and pay a 99$ fee per year (Apple Developer program). But Polyphone is free so... paying this is not an option.

  I have a number of programs on my Mac (Sequoia 15.3) which are not identified by Apple.  All of them follow the security settings process instructions in the link to Apple Support, so I am not certain you have to go through the $99 thing to get things running on Mac.  If you go into security settings and declare you believe the program is safe, it will open and then it shows up in Launchpad, and you can open it from then on.  In the case of Polyphone, it seems the program does not get installed properly.  You do not get to the screen where you slide the application icon into the Applications folder, and the  icon cannot then be found in Launchpad.  All you see pop up is the Polyphone.app file in a temporary folder.  If you go through the security settings process, you can open Polyphone one time, but once you close it, you have to go through the security settings process again to open it.  If you reboot the Mac, the temporary file and Polyphone.app file disappear.  They can't even be found in the trash. To get Polyphone back again, you have to attempt to re-install it using the Polyphone.dmg file.  I hope you can get to the bottom of this.  Polyphone is a great program!
